If you’re familiar with my love for fashion, you’ll understand the challenge packing for a cruise posed! Balancing ship days, adventures, and dinners made it extremely tricky for me not to wayyyyy overpack.
I started with what I knew I needed, 2 formal dress outfits. I did a coordinated Christmas look for Christmas Day and a bright fun look for the last formal night. The green dress from Christmas, is from SHEIN and the other is from Show me Your Mumu. I bought this and many other outfits you’ll see, from Well Dressed Nashville, which is/was an amazing platform that resold clothes from influencers and celebrities which then donated to charity.
Then I went to other dinner outfits. For those, I went with casual dress outfits for the rest of the dinners. a mix of Well Dressed Nashville, Shop Talulah and the famous PUMIEY body suit from Amazon!
For the rest of the days, excursions and pool days, I brought things I knew would work for multiple things. I chose, an active dress from Amazon, swimsuit from Well Dressed (Aerie) and a dupe romper from Amazon.
After I had all the must have outfits checked off the list, I chose a super comfy travel outfit and sweater from The Post, which I knew I needed for the entire trip. I wore the sweater multiple times as you can see from the pictures! It’s soft and cute.
To recap, here is my advice for packing for a cruise:
- Start with the outfits you know you need. Don’t take options! Try them on and commit before you pack them!
- Bring some mix and match things you can wear, for me that was the romper, lounge outfit, sweater and bodysuit.
- Bring a sweater that can mix and match!
I know we didn’t talk shoes, but don’t bring too many! I did for this trip and didn’t wear half 🤦🏻♀️. Bring a comfy sneaker, pool/beach shoe and one dressy shoe that can go with all your outfits. - Make sure you leave room/weight in your bags for souvenirs! This was a struggle for us!
Hope this helps you get ready for your trip! Melissa
